I have a drive on hand to replace it but i m not clear as to the procedure for doing that.

After installing the replacement battery getbbustatus started showing the battery as missing.
To replace it you would need to power down the server and remove the power cord then hold the power button to drain the flea power.
The configuration is stored within the controller and wont be lost by replacing the battery.
I couldn t find any special battery replacement procedures in the manual so i just turned the system off and swapped them.
I replaced a failed battery in a perc 5 i.

I know these things can come with battery backup and other leads do i need any of that.

The original and replacements are the same dlu8735 model.
All hard drives are connected to the h700 with two drives mirrored for the boot volume 4 drives in a raid 5 array for the data volume and 1 drive as a hot spare.
The learn procedure is as follows.
But the sas cables are not the same and they are not cheap.
Finding a complete bundle is probably better for you edit.
Perc h700 modular cards shipped in poweredge blade systems have an integrated dimm module which cannot be removed.
