Poly 80 Bath Bomb

Allows oil to bind with water. Adding more of poly80 and less of water or witch hazel will decrease a risk of your bath bomb mix activating too early. This reduces oils from floating in the bath and ring around the tub. I didn t have any problem with the dye staining but now my bath bombs fizz very slowly.

Poly 20 is often used to emulsify lighter oils such as fragrance or essential oils into water. I just added powdered dye and poly 80 to my bath bomb recipe to create cool colors. Since it is a liquid it works well as a wetting agent. If you only want to add some essential oils to your bath bomb then you are ok to go with.

While poly 80 is used for heavier oils carrier oils. It basically creates a happy incorporated and symbiotic relationship between water based ingredients and oil based ingredients. As you can see bath bomb without polysorbate 80 does not dissolve oils into wat. I added pol 80 in equal parts to the oils but my sodium bicarbonate to citric acid ration remained unchanged 2 1.

In this video i am comparing bath bomb made with polysorbate 80 and without. Depending on how much poly 80 you put it may interfere with fizzing a little bit. Which means you will get more foam and less fizzing. Up to 50 by combining poly 80 with carrier oils.

In bath bombs add up to 6 as a wetting agent instead of witch hazel or carrier oil to make amazing bombs that fizz longer. Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier a wetting agent a dispersing agent and a natural solubilizer.
