Setting Tile On Painted Wall

The gritty surface you create with sanding allows the tile adhesive to stick better on the wall keeping the tile in position.

Wash the wall with tsp tri sodium phosphate or an ammonia based cleaner to remove any grease or oil. Line up the tile edges with the vertical and horizontal marks on the wall to ensure that they re level and plum. Instead bring it up to about 3 4 of the height of your tiles.
